muscat fashion week | professional photography

A couple students and I received access to the Muscat Fashion Week 2012 at Riyam Park for photography fun. This was great for me with networking and practicing the very perishable skill of photography. I concentrated on capturing what the press photographer were not, which was quite fun. Nice to not worry about a deadline or get specific shots. This was a great experience for the two students because they were able to see what it is exactly like photographing for a media outlet. They also met many future colleges :) More events like this are in the works.

How you made the back ground totally black?

Hi Anirban, I'm sorry but I was never notified of this comment. I only saw it just now, very sorry.
The background is black because the difference between the subject with the lighting and the background is too different for the camera to record both properly. The human eye and brain is very good and balancing the difference of light, very quickly... something the camera cannot do. So, in this case when I exposed for the lighting on the subject, the background would just fall to black. I also chose to use the dark backgrounds to get this effect. If I chose to shoot straight down the runway I would get a very bright background because of all the artificial lighting on the runway.
