weddings + dana point yacht club

Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 1100 - 1600, my club will be holding our Romance on the Water Bridal Event on site. I will be attending with a booth so I can meet new brides and offer them my services. I hope to become the photographer everybody uses when they need a Dana Point Yacht Club wedding photographer. You can register to attend the Dana Point Yacht Club Romance on the Water Event here.

The event will also be giving away a wedding package, which my services will be included in. So I look forward to impressing the lucky bride and groom.

carozza first view

Yesterday I was given the greatest opportunity to photograph the nicest family. Mr. Carozza called me from his home in Oakland and said he will be spending Christmas at Disneyland with his family and wants me to photograph them for a gift for his mother.

I meet with the family, and we decide to use this nice little wedding gazebo just outside of the Disneyland Resort. The Carozza's were a bit rushed because they wanted to get back to the park and play since their magical kingdom adventure was ending in the evening. I can't blame them, it was a beautiful day, and as I always say, "we only need one to make a portrait," so I quickly set up a few different groupings at this one location. Their son Nico, 2, sported an awesome mohawk, and I had to grab a quick shot during a break in action.

gone to the dogs

I just realized that my last two posts have been dog related. Dogs, dogs, dogs... I don't own a dog because I don't have time for a pup, and it just wouldn't be fair. My love for dogs stands tall, especially when they are somebody else's... I can wind them up and just take off.

I swear I'm not dog crazy... I photographed a really nice family in Anaheim today, so look for a quick teaser tomorrow.

mollie, bijorn, and swamper

Today I ate brunch with my good friends Mollie and Bijorn from Marin County, bay area. I've known Mollie for probably 12 years... we met while working at Westwind Sailing, and instantly became pals. Mollie now runs a San Francisco Bay Sailing School called Modern Sailing.

It was really nice to share good conversation and food like old times. Their dog Swamper has really grown up since I last saw him. He's turning out to be a fine young pup, and he's much cuter too.

This Summer I photographed my friends' dog while I was house-sitting their home during their vacation. My intention was to gather a collection of portraits to build an album and give it to them for Christmas this year. I've been itching to post the images, but I can't spoil the surprise, so I have had to wait.

Talon is an awesome golden, and minds very well. Without his obedience I wouldn't be able to capture the moments I was able to. Like most golden retrievers, he is ball crazy; he also enjoys his 'old man chicken' and eating ice. Merry Christmas.

Here's a view of the images I have been using for my notecards. The three columns indicated which package: tall-ships, one-design, and hobie cat. Each packages of a dozen includes four images of the three, so you have a little variety. At $15 I think they are a bargain.

dpyc + crafts

So, last night I brought some of my notecards to the Dana Point Yacht Club craft fair to sell. Unfortunately I didn't sell many, but I have to remember I wasn't really there to sell cards, I was there to meet people and talk about what I do, and what I can do for them. The night was fun and I met many people I haven't met at the club before. It's always nice to maximize my club membership.

I whipped out my iphone to grab some shots for nostalgia. My spot was pretty good, right on top of the piano.

tower + night

I needed to get out and shoot. I'm digging this tower.
